learn moreThe Styrotech® ST‑1550 is Axon’s steady‑state, value‑focused stretch sleeve applicator designed for large containers and jugs in demanding environments. Built for predictable performance and rugged reliability, the ST‑1550 is proudly engineered and assembled in the USA at our Raleigh, North Carolina facility.
Unlike shrink sleeve systems, stretch sleeves require no heat or adhesives. That makes the ST‑1550 an excellent choice for operations that need low energy usage, excellent chemical resistance, and full 360° label coverage on round and non‑round containers.
Upgrades over the prior generation include a redesigned frame for easier access, Allen‑Bradley PLC, 7" color HMI, improved sensors and air cylinders, and an updated loader assembly (linear rail with lightweight arm) that reduces wear and supports smooth, repeatable application. The result is a reliable workhorse for steady, mid‑speed production.
The ST-1550 is a steady-state, value-focused stretch sleeve applicator engineered for large containers and jugs. It is built for predictable mid-speed production in demanding environments where durability and consistent performance are essential.
Unlike shrink sleeve systems, stretch sleeves require no heat and no adhesives. The ST-1550 mechanically expands and applies elastic film directly to the container, making it ideal for facilities seeking lower energy usage and simplified utility requirements.
The ST-1550 is best suited for:
Large jugs and bottles
Industrial and household chemical containers
Cleaning products (e.g., window washer fluid)
Kitty litter jugs
Large cylindrical containers requiring durable, chemical-resistant labeling
It performs well on both round and non-round containers.
The ST-1550 is commonly used in:
Household chemical manufacturing
Industrial chemical production
Cleaning product packaging
Automotive fluid packaging
Contract packaging of large-format containers
It is especially well suited for harsh or chemical-heavy environments where label durability matters.
Stretch sleeves offer:
Full 360° decoration
Excellent chemical resistance
No heat or adhesives required
Lower energy usage compared to shrink systems
Recyclable film options
These benefits make stretch sleeves ideal for industrial and chemical applications.
The ST-1550 is designed for steady, mid-speed production, providing dependable throughput for large containers. It prioritizes consistent performance and reliability over high-speed shrink-style output.
