SLX High-Speed Shrink Sleeve Applicators

SLX Series shrink sleeve applicators are Axon’s high-speed, high-performance solution for manufacturers requiring dependable, steady-state production at speeds up to 800 containers per minute. Designed for food, beverage, and other high-output environments, SLX applicators deliver consistent, repeatable sleeve placement with precision servo control and advanced film management.

Built as mandrel-style machines, SLX applicators utilize dedicated servo drives for the feedscrew, film feed system, and cutting assembly. This architecture ensures accurate film feeding, registration, and cutting—even at elevated production speeds. Dual segment feedscrews with independent servo control provide smooth and flexible container handling across a wide range of product formats.

Digital Recipe Parameter Control is standard on the SLX-800 and optional on the SLX-600. This feature stores critical setup parameters for each container recipe and helps ensure the machine will not start—or continue production—if key parameters fall outside specification. This enhances both operating efficiency and production quality in high-speed environments.

Like every Axon shrink sleeve applicator, the SLX offers the flexibility to perform multiple important shrink applications:

  • Tamper evident bands
  • Partial body sleeves
  • Full body sleeves
  • Full body over-the-cap sleeves

SLX applicators are commonly integrated with steam shrink tunnels for uniform shrink performance, though radiant and convection tunnel configurations are available based on application requirements.

Whether running full-body decorative sleeves or tamper-evident bands, SLX applicators are engineered to support demanding production schedules while maintaining precision, repeatability, and uptime.
